Previously, around 2022, Hwang Jung-eum was accused of siphoning 4.34 billion KRW from Hunminjeongeum Entertainment and investing 4.2 billion KRW of that amount in cryptocurrency, in violation of the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes (embezzlement of public funds).
