Spark Integrates with Maple and Allocates Initial $50M

Spark $50M Allocation

Maple Finance, the leading on-chain asset manager, received a $50 million initial allocation from Spark. The capital was deployed into syrupUSDC—a liquid yielding dollar backed by overcollateralized loans to institutional borrowers. Spark, one of the largest on-chain allocators of capital, has chosen Maple as its integration for their first allocation outside of treasury bills.
The decision to integrate with Maple followed a rigorous, multi-month risk assessment conducted by independent third parties, including Block Analitica, Steakhouse Financial, and Phoenix Labs. This comprehensive review examined Maple’s infrastructure, borrower underwriting, and collateral risk management. Findings highlighted Maple’s robust liquidation mechanisms, conservative overcollateralization requirements, and stringent counterparty due diligence — ultimately affirming syrupUSDC as a well-structured, institutional lending vehicle aligned with Spark’s risk parameters.
The $50 million deployment happened last week, and the USDC was swiftly issued out in institutional loans by the Maple team, growing Maple’s TVL to over $900M. SyrupUSDC is now part of the backing of USDS and is contributing its yield to the Spark Savings Rate.

Strategic Collaboration

This marks the beginning of a strategic collaboration between the Maple and the Spark ecosystems. Maple will continue to deliver institutional-grade products with consistent yield outperformance, aiming to strengthen and diversify yield opportunities for USDS stakers.
Having Spark allocate to Maple reinforces the strength of our product offerings and risk management,” said Sid Powell, CEO and Co-founder of Maple Finance. “ This integration shows how DeFi-native infrastructure can deliver high-quality, risk-adjusted returns through real institutions, while preserving the transparency and composability that define on-chain finance.”
Maple has established itself as a leading onchain asset manager, and we’re excited to integrate Spark’s liquidity into syrupUSDC. This deepens our commitment to supporting transparent, overcollateralized lending while expanding access to attractive and well-structured yield products for Spark users,” according to Sam MacPherson, CEO and Co-Founder of Phoenix Labs.
The deployment reflects two long-standing DeFi protocols joining forces to facilitate a shift across DeFi markets toward sustainable, quality yield that can serve both crypto-native and institutional users.

Maple Momentum

This announcement follows a period of strong momentum for Maple with notable milestones and product launches. Maple has launched a new BTC product, which quickly became its fastest-growing product in history. It offers real yield on BTC and generated a net APY of 5.1% in March. Maple also announced a strategic partnership with Bitwise to expand access to institutional on-chain credit.
