SiaFoundation completes V2 hard fork and storage costs drop to a one-year low

SiaFoundation will complete the V2 hard fork and migrate the network to a lighter modular storage stack in Q3 2025, launching Utreexo light nodes, the RHP4 protocol, QUIC network, as well as production-grade renterd, hostd, and walletd. Data shows that active storage contracts increased by 4.3% to 14,300, with the average storage price rising by 17.2% to 555.8 SC/TB/month. The average storage cost dropped to about $1.43/TB/month, marking a new low in the past year. The network capacity is approximately 7.1 PB, of which about 1.3 PB has been utilized. (Messari)
