Trump's Tokyo Dinner Focuses on Japanese Investment in the US, Attended by OpenAI and Salesforce Executives
Jinse Finance reported that Trump plans to have dinner with several CEOs, including Salesforce (CRM.N) CEO Marc Benioff, Toshiba CEO Taro Shimada, and Rakuten CEO Hiroshi Mikitani. This move aims to promote Japanese investment in the United States and mark the conclusion of Trump’s trip to Tokyo. OpenAI co-founder Greg Brockman, Honda President Toshihiro Mibe, and Anduril Industries founder Palmer Luckey are also among the invited guests. The dinner will be held at the residence of U.S. Ambassador to Japan, George Glass. According to a trade framework reached earlier this year, Trump reduced and limited tariffs on Japanese goods in exchange for Japan’s commitment to provide $550 billion in funding for U.S. projects.
