Korean-listed BTC treasury company Bitplanet has made its first purchase of 93 BTC.
ChainCatcher reported that the Korean listed company Bitplanet has executed the first purchase under its daily bitcoin accumulation plan, acquiring 93 BTC on Sunday. This is part of the company's goal to build a reserve of 10,000 bitcoins. Reportedly, the company is backed by Metaplanet CEO Simon Gerovich, and this move is positioned as the first bitcoin purchase by a listed company in Korea.
Bitplanet previously announced this plan at the Bitcoin Asia 2025 conference at the end of August and underwent a rebranding, reserving $40 million for future purchases. Co-CEO Paul Lee stated that this move provides a legitimate and prudent risk management approach for bitcoin acquisition. The company has fully disclosed these purchases through the compliance monitoring platform of the Korean Financial Services Commission.
