Analyst: The Market Underestimates the Risk of US Tariffs Being Overturned by Federal Courts
According to a report by Jinse Finance, eToro analyst Lale Akoner stated that the market is underestimating the risk that U.S. tariffs could be overturned by federal courts. "If this happens, I believe President Trump will have to return the tariff revenues." He may have to go through a much longer process. This would lead to greater uncertainty. These risks are unfavorable for U.S. assets. The purpose of the tariffs is to increase revenue, as Trump's tax and spending policies will raise the national debt. Last week, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit expressed skepticism over Trump's attempt to justify his use of emergency powers to impose global tariffs.
