EU officials to visit the US for trade talks on July 1
According to a report by Jinse Finance, Maroš Šefčovič, the European Commissioner responsible for trade and economic security, stated on June 30 that he will travel to Washington, D.C. for trade negotiations on July 1. On May 23, U.S. President Trump threatened to impose a 50% tariff on goods imported from the European Union starting June 1. However, on May 25, Trump announced that the implementation date for the 50% tariff on EU goods would be postponed from June 1 to July 9. Since then, both sides have engaged in trade negotiations regarding the tariff issue.
