OpenAI Founder Sam Altman Announces Introduction of Iris Recognition Identity Technology in the UK
Tools for Humanity, a company founded by OpenAI co-founder Sam Altman, announced the official introduction of its iris recognition identity verification technology, the Orb device, in the UK. Starting this week, London residents can use this spherical scanning device to verify their identity, and in the coming months, the service will expand to several cities including Manchester and Birmingham. This technology creates a digital credential called "World ID" by scanning the iris, aiming to prove that users are real humans and not AI.
