Trump Pressures U.S. Senate to Pass Budget and Cryptocurrency Bill
Odaily Planet Daily News: As the U.S. Congress returns to session, senators face a heavy workload if they want to meet the deadline set by President Trump.
The first to expire is Trump's massive tax and budget proposal, known as the "Beautiful Act." An updated version of the bill passed the House last month by a narrow vote (215 to 214).
The bill has now been sent to the Senate, where it is expected to encounter similar resistance among some Republican dissenters. The Republican leadership aims to have the bill (preferably as close to the current version as possible) delivered to the President for signing by July 4th.
The next task for the senators is to pass the "GENIUS Act," which Trump hopes will be passed before the end of summer. According to an informed source, the U.S. President's growing interest in cryptocurrency business poses a challenge for bipartisan support between Republicans and Democrats. (Blockworks)
