Panama City Mayor: Second Largest Bank Caja de Ahorros to Launch BTC-Based Savings Account
According to a report by Jinse Finance, as reported by News.bitcoin, Panama City Mayor Mayer Mizrachi announced several initiatives at the Bitcoin 2025 conference. Mayer Mizrachi revealed that Panama's second-largest bank, Caja de Ahorros, will launch BTC-based savings accounts, allowing its customers to utilize these custodial services and simplify their Bitcoin experience. Previously, it was reported that the Panama City Mayor expressed plans to prioritize canal passage for ships paying with Bitcoin and is considering establishing a municipal Bitcoin reserve.
