Nick Timiraos, the Fed's Mouthpiece: Core PCE Expected to Rise by About 0.13% in April
Nick Timiraos, a Wall Street Journal reporter known as the Fed's mouthpiece, posted on social media that according to a predictive model mapping CPI and PPI to PCE, the significant decline in portfolio management services in the April Producer Price Index (PPI) is expected to result in another moderate core PCE inflation reading. The core PCE for April is expected to grow by about 0.13%. However, due to possible upward revisions to March data, the year-on-year growth rate of core PCE may remain around 2.6%.
