Levitt: Trump Disagrees with Moody's Assessment
On May 19, White House Press Secretary Levitt stated that Trump disagrees with Moody's assessment.
Previously, Moody's downgraded the U.S. sovereign credit rating from Aaa to Aa1, with the outlook adjusted to "stable." The downgrade was due to the continuous rise in government debt and interest payment ratios, with the fiscal deficit expected to approach 9% of GDP by 2035. This is the first time since 1917 that Moody's has downgraded the U.S. rating, causing the U.S. to lose all AAA top ratings from the three major credit rating agencies.
