All three major U.S. stock indexes closed higher
U.S. stocks surged rapidly at the end of the session, with the three major indices closing higher collectively. The Dow Jones rose 0.7%, the S&P 500 increased by 0.43%, the Nasdaq gained 0.27%, and the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index climbed 1.74%. Google plummeted over 7%, and Apple fell more than 1% after Apple announced plans to add AI search functionality to its browser. Nvidia rose over 3%, Amazon increased by 2%, Meta, Netflix, and Intel rose over 1%, while Microsoft and Tesla saw slight gains.
