U.S. Jobless Claims Rise to Highest Level Since October Last Year
On May 1st, the U.S. Department of Labor announced on Thursday that for the week ending April 26th, initial jobless claims increased by 18,000 to 241,000, marking the highest level since early October. The increase in claims mainly came from New York, where claims typically rise during the spring around school holidays.
