According to Bitcoin.com, central bank digital currency (CBDC) is set to be fully integrated into the lives of Russian citizens. The Central Bank of Russia has updated the roadmap for the implementation of the digital ruble.
The Central Bank of Russia is preparing for the large-scale digitization of the payment system. Deputy Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation Anna Kartamazova stated that the digital ruble payment network is planned to be launched in 2026, at which time citizens will be able to use this payment tool through digital wallets on the platform of the Central Bank of Russia.
