US lawmakers urge Treasury Secretary to stop Bitcoin reserve plan
According to DL News, U.S. Congressman Gerry Connolly has urged U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent to stop efforts to establish a national Bitcoin reserve in the United States. In his letter, Connolly stated that this move is not beneficial to the public and would only profit the president and his donors while exposing American taxpayers to significant financial risk. Connolly also expressed concerns about President Trump's personal financial interests in cryptocurrency and dissatisfaction with the initiative being undertaken without congressional approval.
