Analyst: U.S. approach to tariffs may be moderated
Analyst Adam Button says Trump could cut tariffs on the US and Mexico tomorrow, according to the US Commerce Secretary. This sudden shift in attitude has raised curiosity as to whether this is part of the US plan. The reason for this is that Trump's tariff policy announced yesterday was not previously available on the US federal website, and now this originally unreleased document is available, but the release date is shown as 6 March, which may suggest that there will be some changes or exemptions made by the US government before then. The above may be nothing more than a bureaucratic procedural problem, but it adds to the confusion nonetheless.
