Report: Bitcoin Mining Industry Creates Over 31,000 Jobs in the United States
Although the Bitcoin mining industry is still in its nascent stage, it has already created over 31,000 jobs directly through mining operations in the United States and indirectly created jobs by supporting related industries. According to a study conducted by Perryman Group and released by Texas Blockchain Council and The Digital Chamber, twelve states in the U.S. account for most of the country's Bitcoin mining activities. Among these twelve states, Texas leads in job creation from mining industries with over 12,200 jobs directly created from Bitcoin mining and support industries. The report also found that mining activities generate more than $4 billion GDP annually and support local energy utility infrastructure by acting as load balancing resources for power grids.
