CME's average daily trading volume of cryptocurrency reached a new high in January, with a nominal value of 13.6 billion US dollars
CME Group announced its market statistics for January 2025, with the number of contracts on the platform reaching 25.7 million, setting a record for the highest average daily volume (ADV) in January in history, an increase of 2% year-on-year.
In terms of cryptocurrencies, the average daily trading volume set a record in January, reaching 198,000 contracts (with a nominal value of $13.6 billion), and ADV increased by 180% year-on-year. Among them:
The average daily trading volume of Micro Bitcoin futures increased by 255% to 84,000 contracts;
The average daily trading volume of Micro Ethereum futures increased by 223% to 69,000 contracts.
