Petrobras of Brazil initiates Bitcoin mining research and development, exploring the application of blockchain in the transformation of oil business
According to Blocknews, Petrobras, one of the top ten oil companies in the world, launched a blockchain research and development project in January 2025. The project covers areas such as Bitcoin mining, asset tokenization, and consensus mechanism applications. This project will be carried out in collaboration with institutions like Cenpes Research Center, Petrobras University of Brazil and Ledger Labs at Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro. In addition, by the end of 2023 Petrobras had already collaborated with Cardano Foundation to issue 500 dynamic NFTs for employee blockchain training.
