Trump campaign: election results may not be announced tonight
Donald Trump's campaign team has been holding behind-the-scenes discussions to plan the former president's election night activities in Palm Beach, Florida, including whether he will leave the Mar-a-Lago resort to address the media. Sources close to the situation said the team recognised that the election results might not be announced tonight (tomorrow morning BST), but there was increased confidence that some key states would be counted by the end of the night, which would help to understand how the election was progressing. After voting in Palm Beach, Trump was asked if there was a chance he might not declare victory tonight, to which he responded, ‘I'm hearing the same thing you are, I'm hearing that I'm ahead by a lot in some of the states, but it takes a long time for the final results to be determined.’ He said he wasn't sure when he would declare victory.
