Federal Reserve Bostic: Uncertainty of U.S. elections may drag down investment
Raphael Bostic, President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, said that uncertainties surrounding the U.S. presidential election could cause some businesses and consumers to delay investment and spending decisions. "You may find some business activities have stalled, especially when considering investments," he stated at an event in Jackson, Mississippi with high school students on Friday. "The same goes for households. With inflation rates being consistently high, families are feeling a bit strained," he said. Bostic reiterated that Fed officials would not adjust monetary policy guidelines due to the presidential election.
