Polygon Co-creation: Layer 1 use cases should be as simple and specialized as possible, Ethereum's goal should be to become the best settlement layer
BlockBeats news, on September 19th, BlockBeats reporter reported live that Sandeep Nailwal, co-founder of Polygon, expressed his views during the roundtable discussion on "The Argument for Ethereum and Layer 2 Solutions" at the main venue of TOKEN2049:
For the Ethereum community, everyone is closely watching its progress. This could be detrimental to Ethereum in the long run due to discussions about Ethereum's value and price. The community puts so much pressure on projects in hopes of bringing more value to Ethereum in some way. Although when it comes to price increases, the community also faces a lot of pressure.
I think that Bitcoin community has done very well in keeping Layer 1 as simple as possible. It simply solves a specific use case - store of value perfectly without any doubt. Compared with Ethereum, this target use case should be becoming the best settlement layer.
