Bitwise CCO: Ethereum ETF "About to be Completed", SEC Maintains an Open Attitude Towards Other Funds
Bitwise Chief Business Officer Katherine Dowling stated that the spot Ethereum ETF is "close to the finish line," while noting that the SEC's discussions about other products are "very welcome." Dowling told Bloomberg that there are fewer and fewer issues resolved between the SEC and ETF issuers in each S-1 amendment, indicating that their release dates are getting closer. Dowling affirmed SEC Chairman Gary Gensler's statement that the agency will fully approve issuers' registration statements in summer, but provided an open time frame. Dowling said Bitwise plans to distinguish itself from other applicants (including giants like BlackRock and Fidelity) by being a "crypto expert" focused on this field for many years. Bitwise submitted its latest revision on July 3rd, while many other applicants submitted revisions before the deadline of July 8th. Applicants still need to add certain details in future revisions, including sponsor fees.
