Report: The number of global cryptocurrency holders reaches 562 million, accounting for 6.8% of the total population
The fintech company Triple A recently released a report titled "Global Cryptocurrency Ownership Status in 2024", which deeply studies the global cryptocurrency ownership trends and its evolving role in the financial ecosystem. Eric Barbier, founder and CEO of Triple A, wrote in the preface of the report: "Today, there are 562 million people worldwide who own some form or various forms of digital currency, higher than 420 million in 2023. In other words, 6.8% of the world's population owns and uses digital currencies." The report points out that Asia is leading this wave with an increase from 268.2 million to 326.8 million people owning cryptocurrencies, a growth rate of 21.8%. North America follows closely behind with an increase from 52.1 million to 72.2 million people owning cryptocurrencies, a growth rate of about 38.6%.
