The number of active addresses on the Polkadot blockchain has reached a historic high for two consecutive months
According to CryptoSlate, Polkadot blockchain activity has surged to record levels, with active addresses reaching historical highs for two consecutive months. Data from DotLake shows that by the end of April, the network had about 650,000 active on-chain addresses. This growth continued an upward trend, surpassing the previous high of 605,000 in March. The rise in active addresses is largely attributed to Moonbeam. During the reporting period, parachains accounted for over 60% of these addresses totaling 397,515 while Polkadot only had 136,612 addresses. Meanwhile, the number of unique non-zero balance addresses on Polkadot slightly decreased from 6.96 million in March to 6.8 million at the end of April. In addition, total network transactions also slightly declined in April to 11.07 million transactions which was slightly lower than March's figure of 11.5 million transactions.
