The CPI is expected to rise slightly in April, while the decline in PPI narrows
The current Consumer Price Index (CPI) has been positive year-on-year for two consecutive months, with economic data for April soon to be released. Many industry insiders generally believe that despite the seasonal decline in food prices, holiday factors are expected to drive a rebound in service prices, so it is predicted that the CPI will still rise slightly year-on-year in April; The Producer Price Index (PPI) fell less than in March on a yearly basis. Wen Bin, chief economist at Minsheng Bank, predicts that the CPI will increase by 0.1% month-on-month and 0.3% year-on-year in April.
