ChainCatcher news, according to CoinDesk, CoinMetrics data shows that the number of Bitcoin miners holding coins fell to 1.794 million this week, the lowest level since November last year.
Data shows that since November last year, the balance of miners' coins has decreased by 27,000 coins, which means that miners have continued to sell off in the months leading up to the Bitcoin halving.
Wintermute said rising Bitcoin allowed miners to profit from higher prices and fund equipment upgrades in preparation for the halving event.
