Economist Derek Tang: The timing of the first interest rate cut may be postponed to June
Economist Derek Tang from LH Meyer/Monetary Policy Analytics stated that there are increasingly more reasons to skip March and postpone the first rate cut until June. Since Powell indicated that the path of inflation will be bumpy, officials won't be troubled by higher data. However, this report is not helpful when they worry about inflation exceeding their target.
