Economist Derek Tang: Timing of first rate cut may be delayed until June
There are now more and more reasons to skip March and delay the timing of the first rate cut until June, said Derek Tang, economist at LH Meyer/Monetary Policy Analytics. Officials won't be bothered by a higher number since Powell said the path downward for inflation would be rocky. But the report doesn't help when they worry that inflation will exceed their target.
