Uniswap founder: Uniswap interface is open source, using GPL license
Uniswap founder Hayden Adams stated on social media that the Uniswap interface is open source and uses a GPL license. We intend to open source it because we want people to fork it. In fact, the github repo has already been forked about 4700 times. The brand is fundamentally different from decentralized protocols or open-source software interfaces; the Uniswap brand can be used in various ways but with restrictions in trademark policy.
For example, a fork can say "built on the Uniswap protocol" but cannot say "built by the Uniswap team." Our trademark policy is based on Linux and Mozilla's trademark policies and rooted in best practices of open source.
