Ethereum's latest ACDE meeting: Sepolia will activate the Deneb upgrade on January 30, and Holesky will fork on February 7
Ethereum core developer Tim Beiko summarized the 179th Ethereum Core Developer Execution (ACDE) meeting, with the Cancun/Deneb upgrade plans for Sepolia and Holesky testnets activated on January 30 and February 7 respectively. Developers also discussed proposals for the next fork, conducted in-depth research on specific EIPs, including EIP-3074, EIP-7251 (increasing maximum effective balance from 32 ETH to 2048 ETH), and EIP-7547 (introducing inclusion lists).
In addition, Erigon is inclined to execute Verkle in the next fork and is willing to add small-scale EIPs. Nethermind stated that they now want to do a smaller fork and develop Verkle in parallel after Prague while also supporting AA-related EIP activities. The Geth team unanimously supports Verkle but has differing opinions on whether it should be implemented in the next fork or subsequent forks.
