SEC Commissioner: Imperfect reasoning in the approval of Bitcoin spot ETF may have an impact in the coming years
According to a report by Cointelegraph, Mark Uyeda, a commissioner of the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), stated that the flawed reasoning in the approval of Bitcoin spot ETF may have an impact in the coming years.
He believes that the SEC has missed an opportunity to treat Bitcoin like other commodities: "The application for Bitcoin spot ETF should have been approved earlier, and the approval order did not provide further explanation as to why there is still a difference in treatment between Bitcoin spot ETF and Bitcoin futures ETF in significant market tests."
