Bloomberg ETF Analyst: There's still a slight chance that the Bitcoin spot ETF could be rejected in January
Bloomberg ETF analyst Eric Balchunas said in an interview with Cointelegraph that although he and ETF analyst James Seyffart still believe there is a 90% chance of the Bitcoin spot ETF being approved before January 10, they have not increased this probability beyond this number. Although the likelihood is small, if the spot Bitcoin ETF is rejected this month, it could be because the SEC wants "more time", rather than outright rejection. This is because the time and effort invested by both SEC and Bitcoin ETF issuers mean that it's unlikely for a Bitcoin ETF to be completely rejected at the last minute. If SEC does reject it, fund issuers may follow Grayscale's footsteps and file separate lawsuits against regulatory authorities.
