U.S. stocks opened lower, Meta plunged 11% at the open
ChainCatcher news, according to Golden Ten Data, the three major U.S. stock indexes opened lower: the Dow Jones fell 0.5%, the S&P 500 Index fell 0.5%, and the Nasdaq fell 0.7%. Meta Platforms (META.O) plunged 11% at the open, with Q3 profits sharply reduced due to a one-time tax expense. The company plans to raise at least $25 billion through a bond issuance. Alphabet (GOOGL.O) rose 5.3% as Q3 results exceeded expectations. Eli Lilly (LLY.N) rose 3% after raising its full-year revenue forecast. Nvidia (NVDA.O) fell 0.8%, and Microsoft (MSFT.O) fell 1.7%.
